first thing the ECS is a good board. An upgrade will not give you much better performance or stability. this cheapo mobo is actually very good.
the one thing that you can gain by upgrading is features.
I would rcommend the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP.
It's a KT333 based mobo
support DDR 2100 and 2700
Onboard Creative CT5880 (SB 128)
Onboard Realtek 8100 100 Mbit NIC
Onboard RAID and USB 2.0 controller.
I personally use this mobo and recommend it to anyone. performance is amazing, it's rock solid and packed with features.

I also recommend you take a look at the AOPEN range DDR options are available:http://www.aopen.com/products/mb/
Mine is the Older KT7PRO running SDRAM and has been a great little workhorse, has the usual bios overclocking facilities dual bios,Dr Voice etc.

I forgot to mention that i want a board that supports 2700 ddr, i was looking at a test on toms hardware and the asus didnt do to well. The gigabyte won most tests, with epox close second.

If you look at toms hardware tests, the pc 2700 does not perform much better than 2100. Anyway, I have to say that my recommendation is an EPOX or even the AN11 from FIC, its got great reviews and its black with white data paths which looks really sweet.

Just curious as to what people think is the best over clocking board available, and most reliable?

I'm running the MSI board with a 1900+ and 512MB of CAS2 PC2700. The system is quite stable, I haven't had any real problems. This board doesn't offer much in therms of O/C'ing if I remember correctly though so if you are conceared about that then go for something else such as the Gigabyte.
As all reports have been saying, the performance difference between PC2100 and PC2700 is barely noticable.
My brain went into standby mode and I can't get it to wake up, is there a BIOS patch for this?

there are a couple of nice 333 boards at www.scan.co.uk (in bolton lancs)also check for ata133 capability - that u will need for 137g + drives and usb2 ,,,those things will be common items soon.
i to am looking for an upgrade (to go in my nice new lian case!) and the one that meets my spec is the new asus a7v 333 (although i dont own 2700 memory)
i think the board i have (a7a) which i bought because of sdram + ddr has some serious problems (in 2k/xp) with the ALI drivers ,,,although saying that its still an excelent board - and very stable.
i will be fortunate to sell my board and my "heavily" moded case (with a 20/40g drive and dvd - 256m ) locally and recoup some cash.
check www.scan.co.uk DAILY offers , and then get on the blower!!!"
lian LI pc6 ally case £67.00 + vat the other day !!!!
cheers freddy

Check out the Epox 8k3a or the one that condor recommended.
The Asus is way way overpriced.
