    Post Puter slowly getting hosed....

    Asus A7V
    Duron 700
    160MB RAM
SBLive:Value (Now ripped out of my system)
ATI Rage Mobility 8mb (my other vid card crapped out. this will soon be replaced By GeForce 2)
    8gb Harddrive
    Win98se

My Duron's Temp floats around 51c and mobo usually at 34c (123F/94F). I replaced the power supply because I was getting extreme fuctuation in my CPU and Mobo temps. Plus, all sorts of Explorer errors, and windows registry checker errors. (About 1 or of 2 times I powered on, I'd get these.) Everytime I'd run an application, after a while, it would take a digger. (program errors or just close to the desktop). I wasn't even playing music. So, I took out the sound card, formatted the harddrive, and reloaded a couple proggies just to see if I'd get the same errors and lockups. I still do.
I'm wondering if it's hardware, but I'm not sure what it could be (CPU, Mobo?)...any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

    I would try RAM first.

Also what drivers are you using for that ATI card?

DOH! I hope it's not the RAM.

ATI Drivers...I'll have to look when I get off work. It's just a generic card till I get a better vid card. Though, it's one that I've always used and it's never failed me. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at the RAM tonight.

I concur with DW's idea ... AMD cpu's can be very picky about the ram. I had to try 3 different generic brands (when ram was mucho $$$)
    Veni, vidi, quiesco sum.
