more .dll problems!!!!
I recently discovered that most of my programs came up with "A Device Attached to the system is not functioning" errors along with "The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z" (That was 3D Studio Max 4)
I've reinstalled, repaired, and unistalled all the software I have installed in the past couple of days to no avail. The only hardware I've added recently is an LG CDRW but that seems to be working perfectly, except for the programs for it. In particular NTI CD-Maker which won't detect the CDRW. If shows the message saying that when its accessing the MFC42.dll. I've tried restoring off the origanal CD (Win98SE) and tried the download on microsofts website.
Any ideas? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Welcome to DLL Hell!, it's been a while since I've been there, i found the fastest solution for these types of things is a complete reformat and re-install of windoze. The plus side is you'll usually notice a performance increase from the fresh install........

If you are in the circle of errors then have you considered reinstalling,When in total doubt, "F" it,meaning fdisk and format it.
