    Resolved [RESOLVED] Ghost Re-boot???

Ok, check this out I'm online and everything is fine. I'm checking out the UFO sites and going back and forth to different pages and all is well. I'm doing this for about an hour or so. Then all of a sudden I hit the back button and "Bing" I'm rebooting out of nowhere. The system just starts on its own no scandisk or nothing. Afterwards I check the disk health with Nortons and found that it fixed the directory structure, that was it thats all it found.
Now I know that I'm looking at the unexplained but this is rediculous. What just happened to my system? This happened twice at two totally different times.
"I have a 500mhz Pentium system w/256m ram a Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X, Crystal sound, Opt mouse, Nortons in bkrnd, MemTurbo, HP cdr"

    Anyone w/a clue is welcome.
    Thanx in advavce!.........Krypten

If it's just happened once and hasn't since, it could have been just a "typical Windows blip". But it could be warning you that you have other issues. Check your fan on your CPU, it could be wearing out. You can usually check your temp from the BIOS, see if it's running too hot. Also if it starts happening more often and randomly, check your RAM. That could also be the culprit.

When data in memory is overwritten and a driver attempts to access the data at a given address that was overwritten, this will sometimes happen. IE and a Creative blaster 3D card have caused me unbelievable grief for this reason. Changed to Opera and it works fine. I might try IE6 eventually, but Opera works for now.
Stress.... The uncontrollable urge to choke the living $417 out of someone who desperately needs it.

Ignorance.... The inherent capacity to demand of someone else that which one is too lazy to learn/perform for one's self.

User....An individual who, through immense proportions of ignorance, create stress.
