Outlook Express problem
I will be working in Outlook Express for awhile, answering emails and then
for some reason I get a message that the server cannot be found. It appears
that I am disconnected though the icon in the bar says I am still connected.
However, the buddy list for AIM (AOL INstant Messaging) also closes and I am
unable to open it unless I manually log off then back on.
I have even been told that I cannot access websites and have to go off and
on.
It seems to be irregular and inconsistent. Is there some settings that I
can check, does the modem have to be adjusted or what.
Thanks in advance

Since it appears you are having a connection problem, and not really a Outlook Express problem, I'd say try the following:
1. Un-install and re-install DUN.
2. Update modem drivers.
3. Try a different modem if possible.
4. Wouldn't hurt to run an up to date virus scanner on it.

Or check your mail account settings.POP3 and SMTP settings as far as your ISP go.

Check to see if you have it set to hangup the connection after downloading messages. If this is set, you would not even notice that it disconnected until you get the message that you are not connected to the server.
You can find the setting in Tools>Accounts>Properties , if my memory serves me right.
Make sure it is unchecked.
Good luck
