Whats a good DDR MB /CPU combination?
I am planning to put a system together and just need some input and comments on what DDR MB and CPU combination should I use? Is RDRAM really better if i can afford it?
Thanks

from what i have read, best bang for the buck is a ECS K7S5A with the SIS 735 chipset and any Athlon with a 266 fsb. in the benchmark tests the SIS 735 is faster than the AMD 760. its also cheaper, the ECS board is under $80 while a 1.4 GHZ Athlon is about $120 at Newegg. they recently did a review of the SIS chipset at AnandTech , you might want to check it out
take care and tempt not the fates

Buddy is correct. Anandtech has done a review of the DDR boards chipsets. The SiS performs better than AMD 760 in ALMOST all the benchmarks. Not all of them, but most. The big attractive thing about the SiS over the AMD 760 is the price. SiS is way cheaper, so you can get on an average greater results for less money. The CPU is your choice.
