Moving Windows to another drive WITHOUT reinstalling
Hi.
I have two hard drives and I'm using Win98SE. The OS is installed on my second hard drive. The second hard drive also includes a 'Program Files' folder with some programs in it.
Now, what I'd like to do is move the Windows, My Documents and Program Files folders to the first hard drive without having to reinstall windows and all other programs. Is this possible? Of course I wouldn't want the program associations to be lost or anything like that.
Many thanks!
Cheers,
Phoebus

If the first drive has nothing you would like to keep on, you could use Norton Ghost "Local disk-to-disk" option.
All other ways, including the xcopy one, would not be so reliable. I'd suggest you either to use Ghost or backup and perform a clean installation.

I would copy the needed stuff on the other drive and then use Ghost!

Aloha Bob's PC Relocator
You can use this if you can go from PC to PC, either with direct cable connect or through the network.

I'm not sure if this will work for Physical drives but Partition Magic 6 has a great little utility called Merge Partition. You can merge your D drive with C drive which will update all shortcuts and registry entries on the fly. It WILL delete your D drive partition but you can just recreate it after its finished its operations.
