    Post Outlook install problem

    Hello all,

I'm having a problem installing Outlook 200 on an NT machine. This is the error I get :

Error 1310 error writing to file C:\winnt\system32\odbcinst.hlp
verify that you have access to that directory

I'm logged in as an administrator and have full rights to all drives, dir's and files.

Any help would be great. Thanks

1310 is an error creating a destination file, which tells me either there is a problem with your outlook install or the directory it tries to write to is supposed to be there. Check to see if directory exists. Might need to reinstall NT.

    Hi All,

Are you sure you have admin rights to the loacl PC, and not just the domain.

Also you may want to find the directory c:\winnt\system32 and check the security on it.

Finally try and verify that ODBC is installed. The file that you are getting an error on is the Odbc Help file.

Thanks for the responses but I ended up sorting this out the long way.

I found all the files it wanted to over-write/update and moved them to a different dir. Then re-ran the install and it worked first time. We think it may be somthing to do with other software which has been installed on the PC's via Zenworks?

    Anyway problem fixed.

    Thanks again.
