    Post Access Denied message on a standalone NT Workstation.

    I have a client who is getting an access denied message when try to open files on his standalone NT Workstation? Thank You for any ideas you may have. [email protected]

    Permissions, Owenership, File Usage Status and if the file is part of OS.

    Maybe the system thinks that the file is already open somewhere else. Have you tried clearing out the temp folder?

    Is it a file that has been shared? I know there is a problem trying to access files on a shared drive if you've already got a connection open to the drive from somewhere else... e.g. you have a mapped drive "h:" and want to make anoth map to a specific resource on same remote machine. NT won't let you have 2 connections open to the same machine, from the same place, using the same username.
