keyboard missing messages?
Hi there,
I have the Abit KT7 motherboard. I booted up fine months ago, but these few weeks I get an error message about missing keyboard everytime I boot up. I would have to unplug and replug my keyboard, then it'll be fine. I don't think there's anything wrong with my keyboard or it's socket. Could this be a powersupply problem? I've recently added a new cdrom. But I bearly have anything on my system (700 Duron): 2 cdrom, 1 harddrive, 1 floppy!!
If anyone knows of this problem, please email me at: mag at ecst.csuchico.edu thanks.

Have you tried another keyboard to make sure it isn't that?

I was gonna suggest that also, if that ain't it, then you got a confilct with one of the new devices and your keyboard resource. try a new kybrd first though.

A-BITs are damn good boards, but I have seen many KBD ports go bad. If keyboard swap and IRQs lend no help. Then I would try your keyboard on another computer. If it works, its got to be the port.

If another keyboard doesn't fix it, you could go to a USB keyboard, assuming you are using PS2 now. Better than scrapping the board.
