Angry Removing a processor in NT from a multi processor system

We are trying to troubleshoot a possible processor problem on a dual processor system. We were thinking about removing one processor at a time and if we don't find a problem, putting them both back in. Can this be done and if so, what is the procedure as far as Windows NT is concerned (i.e. will we need to reinstall)?

Single processor and Multi-Processor installations of NT use a different kernel. I've never done it before but I suspect you would have to re-install.
