Post Keyboard Shortcuts

There seems to be a couple of individual topics devoted keyboard shortcuts, so I thought why not combine them into on BIG topic...

I'll start the ball rolling with:

alt-f4 - close foreground window

alt-tab - switch between running tasks

ctrl-esc - open start menu

alt-space - open windows control menu (same as clicking on the top left of a window)

ctrl-enter - opens selected files properties page in explorer

A lot of these are really useful when working on laptops and you hate the built in mouse replacement, the shortcuts are a Lot quicker too.

Anybody got any more useful shortcuts for windows or other programs?

Do you leak any fluids, do you have any bumps on your rear, do you have any unpleasant odors?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

Alt+enter - Opens the properties page.

Ctrl+Enter doesn't do anything (although enter on its own will open/run the current selected object.)

Windows Key + ....

Break - Open System Properties.

E - Open Explorer

F - Open Find

Will think of some more later....

Cool

OK, I believe you....

Hold down CTRL and hit Refresh in Internet Explorer, this will reload the page from the web site and not your temp directory/cache.

Credit must go to my Boss for this one, but as he is not around in the forum, I will be claiming it....HAHHAHAHHAHAHA

Here is my favorite - In IE5, type the name of the site you want to go to (no http, www or .com) and hit ctrl+alt+enter. It fills in the other stuff for ya. Only works for .com, though.

This has been covered in the forums several times.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts listed on M$ Knowledge Base.

One of my personal favorites: Windows Logo+R = Run dialog box
