Movies/TV Computer goofs
Have you ever been watching a movie or TV show and noticed a big computer goof? I love to yell and point them out while my wife rolls her eyes.... You know, a PC on a desk that someone is using and there are no plugs on it. I love Drew Carey's PC.....

How true!! I always pick that stuff out! Or when they show a screen shot, the text is always huge and looks like some sort of DOS program. Or movies and shows from about 10 years ago when they were doing remarkable things on or with a computer that you still cant do today!!!
I have the "Game Show Network" and it is pretty funny when someone wins a computer on an old rerun. Well, that and the clothes!!

2 words: "the Matrix"
3 more words: "Mission to Mars" (from last Summer).
For two supposed 'sci-fi blockbusters', they were the most scientifically/technologically inacurate movies l've seen! l yelled at the damn screen more than a football fan watching Giants/Cowboys on Monday night!!

Or when someone types a document and while staring at his hands you relize he doesn't use the space key.
He may type really fast, but doesn't use the space key!!!

"The Net" - Sandra Bullock is pretty hot, but the idea of her as a computer programmer is pretty funny. If they would've just changed the storyline around a bit, the movie would've made a GREAT comedy.

I love it when the Mac that they are using is running some form of DOS or Unix as though it were the SOP for that machine (since the PC don't sync correctly with the video camera). I also love ti when you identify some peice of hardware that they are using for an inane purpose, or as something never posibile. Also whats great id when they spout off all the wrong computer terms as if they are really cool and you think - AAAIIINNNNTTTT - WRONG, that realize that you have customers JUST like that.

What always gets me are the wild email programs these people have in the movies, with envelopes flying around, all kinds of graphics. I guess Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger just aren't sexy enough.

I love all of the hackers on the shows and in the movies. They just magically touche some keys and they have accessed anything the plot desires. What a load of crap.

Ha! You guys are killing me, man I thought I was just on my own, but it cracks me up, the Matrix was funny.....just green type...kinda weak for a computer generated world. And the hackers are great, hit a few keys and WHAM we are taking over the world. I havent seen the old Game show network where people win a PC but that has to be a riot.....

"HACKERS" had that total BABE in it but after watching it I finally figured out how hackers, hack..... it's all in how fast you type, as if the faster you type you can "outrun" the supercomputer. We had better not let this dangerous knowledge get out to the secretarial pool or we will all be in grave danger. I knew there was something suspicious about my high school typing teacher.

And in the "hacker" type movies, all the stupid sounds the computers make. "Blip, bloop, bleep."
One time on ER, Doug sent a full-color document to an HP crap inkjet - it only took about 1/2 a sec to print!
Last night on Just Shoot Me, in the big man's office there was an Innoculate IT box - like the box would be in the big man's office. It would be in the trash or in some geeks office.

This was not in a movie, but is sort of related. I am in college currently, and I was reading an assignment in a communications class (a chapter concerning how technology helps you communicate). Anyway, the book said that laser printers use ink. I will never read another chapter in that book.

What i find absolutely unbelievable is that the computers never crash just when they REALLY need some info.
