    Exclamation Speaker... Beep.. BEEP.. SHUT UP!!1

    To all,


    Is there a program I can use to control my computers internal speaker so I don't have to hear that loud annoying modem sound. Thanks.

    Try going into control panel --> Modems. click on your modem go to properties and move the speaker slider all the way to the left, should stop the noise.

    Click on Start - Settings - Control Panel.
    Double click the Modems icon.
    Highlight (one left click) your modem and click the Properties button.
    Click the Connection tab, then the Advanced button in the lower right.
    On the line where it says Extra Settings, type in M0. (that is a ZERO, not an O)
    Now click OK as many times as needed to close all those windows. Your modem should be silent
