    Post Neighbours at work

What are the businesses around your work like? Do you get on with the people who work there, look after their computers?

I work in a complex surrounding a carpark with 6 different businesses. Generally they're a friendly bunch, especially in the data cabling place next door. We fix their computers when they have problems and they give us a good deal on networking stuff.

Anyway one morning after doing a monster wheelie and stoppie into the carpark one of the guys comes out of the home loans place across the carpark and starts yelling at me. I didn't hear a word of what he said as I was wearing my helmet but it makes me think. Maybe I'm a bad neighbour! Maybe we're missing out on lucrative service work because of my behaviour.

    Any thoughts, similar situations?

Strictly onsite now. In my old retail days, my store sat between a bank and a travel agency and across the street from a grocery store. I pulled in a lot of work from their clients. Never had any problems getting along with them.

Across the street is one of the biggest names in streaming porno. That's probably the highlight of this neighborhood....

I work in Canada's oldest skyscraper, on Bay Street.(Canada's version of Wall Street) Lots of suits, shirts and ties, banks, lawyers, and stuff like that. StockHouse is in the same building, as are several other high tech firms and lawyers. We have an entire floor to ourselves so there aren't a lot of neighbours to deal with.

I'm kinda in the slums of town. We've got a Wal-Mart & a pizza place near us, and an "Adult Entertainment" store right across from us. Plus, there's a guy who sells smack down at the corner...not sure if he's got a business license or not.

depends strongly on the client. I wouldnt go pulling a burn out in front of many of them, and expect them not to get upset.

All in all, we get along well with our 'nieghbours', and there is a lot of comradery and favours around our town. We are situated off the main street, with a tanning salon next door ( I love coming to work somedays....) a real estate office, and a bank. The real estate will do us favours from time to time, and the bank favours us for loans... unfortunately the tanning salon doesnt tend to send much 'business' my way

    Cool

We're next to a hair dresser and a picture framing place. Our front door opens out to the hair dressers. Around formal time (prom in americanese) it's really hard dragging myself to the daily grind.

I'm on a strip with about 3 other computer places and a monitor repair house. Its good and bad. People are always coming in to compare prices. Its good when i can't get something I need, so off to the neibours to get one. (hide the work shirt.)

I don't use to do that, since almost all of my neighboors don't have a computer or go to another store.
