Hard drive needs Oil

Here is one, back in '92 a guy baught a Seagate drive from us, and was ahving trouble getting it to work. He called up, and I started walking him through some things over the phone.

I asked him if the drive was spinning, he said yes. (I figured he was feeling the top of the drive) We went on.

"It sounds like its just not working. Can you feel it, your sure it is spinning, and everyting is ok."
"Yep, I can see it spinning"
*ding*
"See is spinning?"
"Yep, those round things are doing real fast."
"The top is off?"
"Yep, the barrings in this thing were bone dry, so I put a little WD-40 on them."
