[RESOLVED] HA HA (really it's not funny)
I should be taken out back and shot. Here I preach "backup backup backup" and then I go tinkering with my system and end up messing the MBR up and then when I restore it it's not the same. So instead of gracefully recovering I think I lost everything. *sigh* Just had to vent.

In Hebrew there is a Phrase (I'll try to translate).
"If the Tallest and Strongest trees got burned and wiped out What will say the Tiny moss will say?"

Dad: Don't leave your cd tray open!
Me (at 9:00 at night after he's upstairs watching TV): *closes CD-ROM for father who forgot to shut it*. ::sigh::

Some times I leave me CD tray open while gaming to increase air flow into my case. Even after I am done. My Athlon gets kinda toasty if I don't (and that's with 6 case fans)

It says: "Cannot read from drive D:...."
It means: "... However, if you put the CD in right side up..."
It says: "Directory does not exist...."
It means: ".... any more. Whoops."
It says: "The application caused an error. Choose Ignore or Close."
It means: "....Makes no difference to me, you're still not getting your
work back."

Wanna know what's really sad. I lost 3 months worth of downloads and other files. But this time after I got everything installed I ghosted my drive to 2 cd's and it took me 20 minutes. *sigh*

Are you kidding me?!? Crack smoking = bad.
They sell case fans for $3 and system blowers for $10 so buckle down and buy some.

Hmmmmmm, a CD drive is a pretty well sealed unit you know. I have to take them to bits after people repeatedly, dispite warnings, leave the drawer open causing them to cease reading after becoming full of cat hair.

I had a tape drive fail at the begining of the month. So naturally the day before the DLT shows up...bang complete and total file system corruption. Ouch Ouch Ouch. I'm still hurting from the reaming I caught from the managers.

I'm just thankful that I didn't have anything major important on my system. Well that and that it was MY system.

I've seen to many people in tears about loosing all there data cause of drive failure. So I back up my system at least once a month and keep the backup tape in the fire/bomb/drop/user and coffee proof safe at work.
