I think it the story should be openly discussed as long as no remarks or foul language are made against other users.

I'm watching. So far I only see one post that trashes for the sake of trashing....most seem to be having fun and being creative. As long as it stays all in good fun rather than pure trash talk I don't have a problem with it.

Just for the fun of it (proving I am insane) I got hold of some dead Imacs and took them down to our local firing range....

.22 pistol, bounced off, who'd of guessed?
.38 pistol, also bounced but did gouge it a little....
9mm pistol, made some nice holes....
10mm pistol, made some bigger holes...
.357 pistol, made impressive holes....
.45 pistol, definately did not bounce, infact the guy who was using an Imac as defence would be currently pushing up flowers.

And then just for fun....

.303 rifle, really big holes...
.45/70 rifle hmmm, not such a bit hole but went straight through...
12 guage shotgun, lotsa little holes, some might of bounced...

Finally,

Rigby .416 Elephant Gun, hehehe, not much left the bullet ripped the casing in half as it exited...

All in all 3 Imacs were destroyed and a fun day was had by all (I'll post pictures when I get them developed.)

Anyone want anything else tested?

Cool

In theory (anything is possible), the bullets may have deflected from some of the metal parts inside the case.

Personally I don't believe it. but then I've always been an optimist...

I don't know i-macs, but a PC may do the trick, no matter what cpu or configuration. You just need a case made of 15mm-thick steel plate... the only problem is that it would weight about 250 Kg , so it won't be so comfortable to wear as a bulletproof jacket

Wink

Well, that's all well and good, but when
that happened to me, and I happened to be
carrying my *Linux* box, not only did it
deflect the bullets, it also caught the
guy!!!

I think that after the shots had been fired the correct quote would have been "Don't make me pull out my AMD9 and bust a cap in yo' a$$!!!"
