WinXP - STOP 0x00000F2
Like the topic said, when I ran WinXP Beta 2 setup tonight, I got a STOP error half way thru detecting hardware.
========================
STOP 0x00000F2
Interrupt Storm
ACPI.SYS may be at fault
========================
Anyone know what the hell this is??? I've been running Beta 2 of XP on the same hardware build for months - but on this new build, it has decided to throw a wobbly!

I'm gonna take a stab at this one. Does your hardware support ACPI power saving? Try disabling it in the BIOS and OS. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Theres that IRQ storm again.Try removing each card and trying it with just video until the install is final.Then each card,this might narrow it down.

Yes, the machine is fully ACPI complient. It's been running Win2K Pro and AS for about 8 months mostly trouble free (any problems are either M$ or Via's fault).
It's just this one install that's playing up. I haven't made any significant hardware changes since the last XP build.

Do you mean that this has happened to other people as well? Is it just really crap PnP on XP's part? Pulling out cards and putting them back in is not tempting - I simply can't be bothered to unbolt everything.
Any other workarounds for this?
