[RESOLVED] No life
Just incase anyone has any ideas, like they say two heads are better than one...
I got this PC today, friend says he was trying to install a $5 gamepad, and once he turned the machine off, and plugged it in, the machine turned on, but no display (no life either, no post-boot, and you can't here the HDD loading windows or anything) I did some process of elimination. Took out all the cards, tried the videocard first, then RAM, then CPU, still nothing.
The only thing I haven't tried was a different power supply, which I will do (i've had power supplies do this kind of thing before) I'm just about to clear the CMOS, but just incase anyone has any ideas before I obtain a used motherboard for him, just post. Thanks
BTW,
It's a
PII 300MHz, looks like a PC Partner MOBO, (nothing integrated though)
(And NO DAMN BEEPS!!!!)

i don't know your friend so please don't take this the wrong way. chances are that he/she plugged it in 'hot' and hosed the mobo.
also it is possible that the mobo was ready to go anyway and it is a coincidence. either way i would say a used mobo is the answer.
