[RESOLVED] how many of you got this?
just got back from my trip from Florida and had this email message.... I was wondering how many others got this.
this was from [email protected]:
Dear pga ,
Your opinions in the forum of the Windrivers.com online site caught my
attention.
As associate editor of im-ur, I have been scouring the forums of online
sites for intelligent and active contributors like you.
I would like to invite you to express your comments and opinions at im-ur,
a site that is quickly on its way to becoming "The Daily Newspaper of the
Web."
im-ur has revolutionized the concept of the media on the web by creating
a newspaper that is written by its users. The New York Times wrote,
"Few challenge the status quo as much as im-ur.com."
im-ur represents the ultimate in freedom of speech and democracy.
What you write appears immediately in the pages of im-ur, as soon as you
post it.
The readers decide the hierarchy of articles contributed; the more an
article is read, the closer it gets to the front page. It's that simple.
Incidentally, we are giving away $500 every month to the person whose
article attracts the most readers.
We look forward to your contribution.
http://www.im-ur.com
Sincerely yours,
Troy Turner
Associate Editor, IM-UR

That's exactly what I thought when I got it!
I write and reply to topics about computer problems, not news stories and other un-related garbage!

that would be a lot of work to scan all these profiles. What about a hack?
them - When I click on this it crashes.
me - OK, reboot and let's troublesho...
them - See, it did it again...
me - sigh

Maybe it came from an affiliate of internet.com (which is the owner of windrivers.com now). Internet.com may have given them all the info on the members of the forum.

l think it could only mean your stance on computers is the same as that of a big, gay Jesus.
l didn't get it, but l guess that is because people avoid me as much as possible

i read the email, and at first i thought 'OMG! the driver guy likes me, he really, really likes me!! and he wants my help!!!'
Then i noticed that is wasn't from him... and i was slapped in the face with the fact that i am an over experienced, underpaid tech/system builder that no one appreciates except the rare occassional customers like 'Norm' who bring me doughnuts on Mondays.
oh well...
