    Red face Persistant Problem....

ok, this is just getting annoying <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0">

Problem - printer locks from dos initated print

sys config - (older pc) win95

ATI graphics pro turbo pci (mach64vp)
regular printer port (not ecp or epp)
    creative awe64

printer is a deskjet 712c with the most recent drivers

last time I worked with him I updated the drivers and it worked great from windows, but his dos prog still will not print correctly. (printed 3 of 17 pages last time)

This is not a word processor and I don't want retarded replies like update the software, because that is not an option.

What are your port setting set for in the BIOS?

In the printer properties, do you have the port set to spool MS-Dos print jobs?.........If so, try unchecking that option.

Can you print ok when you are at a true command prompt, without windows running??

These are just suggestions to try, if you have tried them already, or feel they fall into your "retarded replies" category, sorry!!!

is it just me or did the 1st post say - can't update the software? duh, read the post fully before you reply.

anyway, I thought about doin that mojo..never give me any help in the past, but with this ancient software...ya never know...

Also, having to work on it from 2000+ miles away makes it near impossible (use pc anywhere).

Heh, heh I think that's why he wrote Update the software.

    Thumbs up

The 712c printer does not support DOS printing. You would need an 840(842) or 930(932).
