Been building & repairing since 1976, I was 14 yrs old now working for Virtual PC's in findlay, OH as Head Tech. Just got a job offer from Electronic Arts in Charlottesville, VA. Trying to decide if I really want to move. Probly not right now.

2 years with two different companies as a tech. A+ certified and in 6 weeks will be MCSE. Will Net Admin soon (hopefully!)

1983 - Got my Atari 800
1985 - blew my "car" savings on a PC-XT
1988 - Made my first money building PC's for friends in college (I was a music major)
1994 - Home business too stressful, looked to get out and work for someone else
1995 - Took a 10-month "vacation" at a trade school called Dover Business College. Curriculum: Computer Electronics Tech
November 1995 - Passed one exam: Novell CNA (3)
December 1995 - Started working in Atlantic City, NJ area.
November 1996 - Started working in Philadelphia area.
August 1999 - Passed 7th exam: Novell CNE (4)
Today - Loving life (-;

3 years of local computer nerd (but that doesn’t count in this post

I can build computers
High school computers classes are waaay too elementary
Volunteer tech support for Dave Chalk's Computer Show that airs mainly in Canada (sometimes I don't know a question and I just look on the web to find the answer, great learning process)

4 as a partner in an Education Consulting Firm
2 Years system development and analyst / designer for a biometric firm
2 years managing a retail outlet in arizona and specializing in government / education bidding
currently employed by Verizon, So. Ca. as a Network Admin.
CNA, Currently in major school for papers: BS/CS, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, MCSE+I, MDBA, Linux Admin, Webmaster, and CNE 5. I love it and read 1500+ relevant pages per week,

I started in high school programming a DEC PDP-11 with 8" Floppies. Then on to the Atari 800. Then an original MAC. Then nothing till a Pbell 486 SX/33. Then I started selling machines and learned the tech side because our tech sucked, ended up liking it and did that for three years - small retail tech. Then quit to do WinDrivers full time with no certs.

BBC Micro (model B) at age 12.
2 Years college studying Artificial intelligence. Spent a lot of time messing with a 286.
Built my first PC around then. 486DX33!!!
Learned and forgot a load of programming languages (Pascal, C, Prolog, pop11, HTML)
1 Year college studying Computer science + digital electronics.
Self employed tech/ sales for 2 years.
1 year desktop/network support for a local school.
1 Year desktop support for dental practice + self employed tech for the last year.
1 Exam away from MCSE.

5 years running configuration shop
2 years field service engineers ( servers & desktops)
18 months senior support for a finance comapny
2 exams off mcse
first 5 years were all self taught then started taking courses
