Arrow having multiple IE browsers open at once but only one can load at a time? UPDATED

i can open several internet explorer browsers at once but as one window is loading a webpage from one site, if i try to use another IE browser to go to a different website i get the "page cannot be displayed" message in that window. but when the first IE browser is done loading the first page, i can hit refresh in the other window and it starts loading fine. it seems like the first window uses up all of my modem's bandwidth.
Does anyone know a adjustment that will allow me to open several internet windows at once and they all load?

yes it is a 56k dial-up. and interesting enough, i have another pc configured the same exact way in the other room and you dail-up and open as many IE windows as you can click on and they all open (eventually) without seeing one say (page cannot be displaid) <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Are you using a 56k dial-up connection?? you may be taxing it a bit too much. it may be timing out on the second page.

I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.
