Reboot/restart problem
Compaq Deskpro EN with Windows 2000 Professional. For some reason the computer will not do the start-shutdown-restart option in normal mode, it will however do the restart in safemode? Also cannot CNTRL-ALT-DEL to force a reboot?

Was this a new install of Win2k? Have you ever had this problem before? Did you just reload and this started happening? Have you ever had any other OS on this computer?

You have a service or driver not shutting down. Try using task manager to manually stop apps one at a time and try to shutdown.Trial and error will show which one is at fault.

I know all that transpires beneath the waves. However, I can't be bothered at the moment, as I am occupied with a submarine sandwich.
Well, the real reason is in Windows 2000, I am out of my depth...
