Post Need Recovery Advice Stat for Hard Drive...

Sircam32 wiped out one of our computers. I restored it and found out that a directory contained vital info. Has anyone had this kind of experience and if so what do you recommend.

    Thanks,

Is it a brand name system Eric (HP, Packard Bell..) that has the recovery stored in a hidden partition? If it has a Hidden partition and the virus has corupted the master boot record try FDISK /MBR to restore it and try again. Otherwise you'll need to get a Recovery CD from the manufacturer. If it's a system thatuses a CD and won't recover properly you might need to restore the master boot record first. Type FDISK /MBR (this will restore the MBR for all drives in the system) from a DOS prompt then try the recovery again.

You might try Tira32 which I believe is available from Quantum. Were the vital files Dat or were they HP files?
If life is a bitch, then what is death? I believe that I will take the bitch...
