    Question adapter address

I have a Cisco 1720 router that has to have an IP address, but in order to register it I need the adapter address. It does'nt seem to be clearly marked any where and it's not like I can run WINIPCFG...any ideas??

Do you need the MAC address?

sorry, but I'm just leaving the office this moment and I have only 12000er...but if you want a quick solution:

    - give the adapter an IP
    - attach a PC via HUB/crossover
    - ping the adapter
    - "arp -a" or whatever is the appropriate command from your system to show the arp-table...

that's it... have a nice day!

You can find a out the address doing a "show int" command, should be in the line following the interface name in the following format "address is xxxx.xxxx.xxxx"

Atleast, that is how it is on my 1600 series router. Just telnet in and run that command or access it through the console port. You do not need to be in privaledged exec modem to run this command. Default password on most cisco routers is cisco.
