Compaq Presario 5000 video upgrade
If you are trying to add a better video card to a Compaq Presario 5000 PC, then you must have the new bios patch from COMPAQ to make it work. It is dated 4/18/2001. Without the patch, the machine wouldn't even post. With the patch, was able to successfully install a ATI Raedon 32 mb 3-D video card. Happy upgrading.
