    Thumbs down Soyo K7VTA Pro

Always liked soyos, perform about average but come with a nice little software package. so i get this one, with an Athlon 266(only takes sdram). However if you run the mobo at 133x2 266 fsb the bios option to set sdram by spd is disabled. It gives you limited options to manually adjust the ram settings, notably can change to cas 2. The performance however of the memory as tested on Sandra 2001 goes way down from running on a 200 fsb. Whats going on here? Had to unlock the processor and use it on a 100 fsb to get decent performance. Got the latest bios, no change.
anyone using this board notice this? Any fixes?

I have used mostly soyo boards and a few asus board and am of the opinion that sandra as a benchmark is biased and unreliable. you might want to go look at the posted benchmarks at a soyo distributer's site, http://www.specialitytech.com
you might find something there to alter your thoughts
