I can see it now... November 6, 2008.... Here
on the board.... A message appears...

Hey group.. What can I do with these old 256MB
PC133 SDRAM modules? Anybody want 'em?.. If not,
I'm gonna throw 'em out in the trash.. I saw
somebody on eBayHoo trying to sell some for
    $1/each... Good Luck!!

It seems like only yesterday (back in 1994-95) I
was paying $300 per 16mb of 30pin simm.. Our co's
clerical machines were win95 w/ 8mb/ram and the
    pgmrs/engineers got a whopping 16mb w/win95 or
32mb if they ran NT (3.1!!)

    We've come a LONG way....

    Cheers..

    Question

I'm not 100% sure but I think that they can be used in AKAI's MPC2000. So you might want to see if any producers or musicians are willing to purchase them from you.

In my second computer,.. I have an old SBAWE32 soundcard. So I stuck a couple of 30 pin simms in it just for the hell of it.

For example, he buys the clock mechanism somewhere, then drills a hole through a hard drive so that he can attach it. Dang it!! That was my idea!!!

I wasn't going to actually break down the chips though. I was going to put a full simm at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. I also thought about modding a case with a clock like this on the side.

I'd definately go for the keyring idea if you only have a few around... I, on the otherhand, had over a hundred laying around so I made a desktop out of 'em. Just like brinks, glue lay, glue lay, glue.. you get the idea. It looks great and feels kinda funny... don't try to use a mouse on it though

Some plotters and laser printers use 30 pin simm for their memory. Find out what types and who has em. 4mb 30 pin is worth a small fortune to people with HP plotters.

The very best use of those SIMMs is to put a small ring on one end and a treble hook on the other. You can then decorate it with eyes, feathers or whatever wild thing you want. Makes a hell-of-a bass lure! Heck, fix em up and sell em on eBAY.

When in doubt, blame the sales department!

Well how about take some fish line, string all the old simms together and put around the x-mas tree. Good use for old or busted colorul Cat5 cable.

Just don't toss them in the trash! The landfill are already overloaded with old computer parts. Just what we need, more lead in our landfils...like all the old D&D figures weren't enough

HP has a program to recycle all this old stuff, look into that or the decoration ideas are good. Or take all your old 286, 386 systems and make a Beowolf cluster
    ...I don't get it...

I'd have to agree with Darren, the only thing I can think of is a lot of old professional sound cards had slots for 30 pin ram. I through mine out last year, I had a 2 pound bag of 30 pin ram, lol! Go ahead and chuck 'em.
