Post Another reason why I LOVE NAV

Here's my problem...Norton antivirus and SIS 6326 video card (OS 98). I install NAV reboot then error unable to initialize the virus scanning engine database files...Norton help files say you need to update the video card drivers...Okay then, I do that; Update the drivers to the newest version...reboot machine and boots to a black screen with one vertical purple line on the far right side of screen. I remove norton and it boots fine...Any thoughts on how to fix this problem.

Have you tried uninstalling NAV, updating the Video Card drivers, and then reinstalling NAV? We run NAV at work on NT 4 and haven't had any problems with the video cards. Not sure why NAV would even conflict with a video card... kinda weird if you ask me. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yep...I think I have tried every different way possible...Now what I have is Norton installed, but it crashes every where. I click on anything error this and error that "You must reinstall Norton AntiVirus" And I know that If I do it won't reboot properly I get the Black Screen...
One thing I noticed it seems to have the updated definitions installed but I only did that once at the beginning of the day I have uninstalled the software about 6-7 times now...Do you know how to remove the definitions off the hdd

After uninstalling Norton Antivirus. Delete the files you find at C:\program files\common files\symantec shared\virusdefs.
Then run regedit and delete the tree Hkey_local_machine\softeware\symantec\norton antivirus.

Reboot and you should have sucessfully removed it.
