Anyone else get these calls
Several times in the last week we have gooten calls from PCTel marketing trying to "introduce" us to their line of motherboards. Alton, Amptronics, PC Chips, etc. I told them we stick with Abit or Asus, but they call back the next day. We wont use their products, but cant get them to stop calling. Anyone else getting these calls
Ji,
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I did once....after laughing uncontrollably, I just hung up the phone.
They never called back for some reason.

I hate these type of calls. I get at least one of them a day. For some strange reason, everyone knows I am the IT contact at our branch office, even though that is not a formal part of my job title or job description. Here's a sampling of some of the conversations:
Salesguy: Do you have a moment to talk about blah blah blah?
Me: No.
Salesguy: {complete and utter silence}
=====
Salesguy: I was wondering if you'd be interested in a high speed DSL internet service.
Me: Well I get 3 meg DSL for $150 a month (when it actually costs $450 ) Can you beat that rate?
Salesguy: Um, well, have a nice day -click-
=====
Salesguy: I'd like to discuss {some big ticket item I'd never be able to authorize in a million years}
Me: You'll have to talk to our office manager {who is never in the office, doesn't return phone calls, and his favorite button on his phone is the one that deletes voice mail messages}

I hate people calling me, trying to sell me shonkey gear.
We actually had a guy walk into the office today, trying to sell us American Express cards... after politely telling him that a job at McDonalds might be a better career path for him, he decided not to bother me any more.. funny that..

Flabooble!
We just dump them into a mailbox and the person who does procurement deletes 'em later.
My favorites are the ones who want to be transferred to the CIO. Like I'm gonna transfer you to the CIO?!?! Hello, bing bong! Like he has time to talk to you about whatever you're hawking.
