Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Probs!!!
My problem is related to an Ati Tv-Wonder Pci or an Ati All-In-Wonder 128 Pro Agp in combination with a Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1.
When I boot in windows (win98se or winme) I received an error like:
MSGSRV32 error in DEVCON32 with a system hang.
I tried all the ways reported on http://support.ati.com/infobase/3543.html
with no success. It's my opinion that is a creative driver problem, because I tried another tv card (Happuage) with the same error!.
If someone has resolved this problem... please help me!! Thanks!!

Devcon32 is a file used by creative audio hq, I havn't seen it where it locks the machine up before, but what I would do is try to go into safe mode and uninstall liveware or go into msconfig and tell it not to load audio hq and download newest version of liveware.

I have only installed Live!5.1 drivers, I haven't installed Liveware, and Liveware 3.0 is only available for standard Live! not for Live!5.1 (In Live!5.1 cd there is a LiveWare 3.0 with live 5.1 drivers)

One thing you can try doing is going into your Device Manager, and under "Creative Miscellaneous Devices", disabling the Creative SB16 Emulation. It causes LOTS of problems. Or just re-install the drivers and de-select the "DOS-DRIVERS" to start with.

I have tried also this way! I have even reserved irq 5 to legacy isa (for sb16 emulation) with no results! I have written to creative, if they resolve my problem, I 'll say to you.

You didn't say anything about Your MoBo,though.I have seen similar problem with ASUS P3B-F MoBo and same Sound after flashing BIOS with "newest" (and unmature!) version. With previous version all worked well, but customer wanted to install new P3 processor... Waited few weeks until new BIOS update was released, flashed it, and all problems went away. Try to update BIOS...

I had this problem on an Asus A7v (bios 1004d) and on an Asus Cusl2 (bios 1003), so an Amd and an Intel system.

I have tried and this solution works. As I have supposed, it was a Creative driver problem.

Have you tried the AV7/SB Live! fix?
Go into the Bios and change IRQ 5 to Legecy devices
Worked for me with my probelms.
