[RESOLVED] Hard Drive Copy Stations

We are looking for a reliable Hard Drive Copy Station so that we can make images of our units for repairs when something breaks. We need it to be able to copy IDE, EIDE and 2.5 laptop drives. I found one at

but need a few more to look at before we make a choice. Does anyone know or currently use any hard drive copy stations, and what do you like/dont like about it.

Have you tryed Norton ghost? this is fast and simple. Lots of features.

Ghost is by far the easiest option, however I believe that a licenve has to be purchased for every pc that you use it on. I havent looked into this, but it was quoted to me at my work about 6 months ago.

If this is the case, then a cloning machine would be the cheapest option (in the long run). We use a couple of Onmiview clone units at work as we support over 3000 machines. I can clone 5 drives in 5 minutes - really saves a lot of trouble.

We use ghost a great deal but the problem lies in that I we are getting about 90 additional laptops and they all need a redefined set of software. A copy station would mean that I dont tie up a full box for the process and can support a large number of platforms. Just wanted to know if anyone had played with the one above.

I use it here at work. We paid for one, and we ghost them all.

Ghost really can't compare with a good copy station. It's great for copying one drive at a time, but when you need to do LOTS of drives, a copy station is the way to go. I've seen some that can do 8 drives at a time. I think it was made by Promise.

Hello, i dont know if this is too late, but I use some drive duplicators that are made by Greystone, so far they have been pretty reliable and the ones we have can copy up to 5 drives. It seems to be what you described, being able to copy IDE, EIDE and 2.5 laptop drives. Just thought I would let you know....
