[RESOLVED] HELP!! Need to recover data from a dead drive

A friend of mine asked if there was a way to get data off a hard drive that had a head crash. Anybody know of any companies that can do this? This is from a business PC that had no backup (I know that can be fixed later), so cost isn't an issue.

Check the manufacturer's tech support--several offer recovery services. Ontrack also offers recovery services.

I've used SpinRite to recover data from several otherwise unreadable hard disks. It will only work if the drive spins up and is recognised by the BIOS though.
