    Talking Win2k Riddle for you

Okay, everyone knows that if you delete a 2k system file Win2k will not actually delete the file, it will put the file back in the correct place. But what happens if you boot into Recovery Console which is booting into a command prompt for 2k and delete say the NTOSKRNL.EXE there? Well, I did this and rebooted, Win2k did not replace the NTOSKRNL.EXE anywhere on the harddrive but the OS loaded fine, did not lock up and is running without a hitch.

What is the deal? Can 2k run without the NTOSKRNL.EXE? I did make sure that under folder options that it SHOWS hidden AND system files but I cannot find the NTOSKRNL.EXE on the harddrive or anything. Is the NTOSKRNL.EXE file a dummy file now? Anyone know what happened to 2k? I have duplicated this on several computers with all of the computers running fine. Can anyone answer this riddle?

did you make sure that you unchecked the "hide protected operating system files" box, along with checking "show all files"?

please reread my post, it was done on all computers and I forgot to add that this was done by several people who have been fixing computers since God knows when. We checked, double-checked and triple-checked to make sure.
