    Post Laptop problem

I have a Dell Latitide in the shop running Win95. I have installed about 3 different brand modems and they all detect, install and the diagnostic windows test shows them working all fine. BUT when I try to connect it says the computer is not receiving a response from the modem. I have tried multiple ISP dialups and they are all the same. I have also disabled all startup devices and programs. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Jason

That used to be the tell-tale symptom of an incorrect initialisation string. I don't actually remeber where to change it in 95, but I'm pretty sure under DUN, you could select properties and find it. If it is blank, try putting in ATZ as the init string and seeing what happens......
