I would shy away from the All-In-Wonder cards, if you are going to use firewire or a real capture card like a DV500. As some capture software (even Adobe Premire) can have problems with 2 capture devices on the same system. As for the dual display the G400 or G550 Duel-head From Matrox is a good choice they may not be the greatest for the latest games, but they should be good stable cards for a capture system.

    Agreed w/ GHSTECH.
IMHO, everything ATI is just plain weak, but that is all based on personal experience. The AIW series is meant to be a multi-purpose card (graphics+capture+tv/tivo ability).
When working in premiere (which i strongly suggest you choose to do- it is more powerful than most over-the-counter s/w) tou are better of with a separate cards. 1 for your display, 1 for your capture and rendering, which the ATI cards are not designed for.
You will be happier with a capture card/premiere 6 bundle, which you will pay out the a$$ for, but will get the job done with.

Ok so two cards one of which will be pci. Here's the question: which do I use for redering the agp or the pci? And what is a good combo (agp pci)?

Elsa is about to go out of business, so stay away. They stopped selling outside of Europe a few months ago and are probably filing for the German version of bankruptcy any day now.

Colorgraphics makes special video cards with 4 outputs. It gets pricey with all the monitors but you get lots of desktop space....

I thought I had heard something about elsa going under. Thanks for the confirmation.

Colorgraphics? How well would/do they handle video intensive work? Thanks.

Your capture card should handle all the rendering/effects duties, so any AGP card that meets your other needs will do.

well, from what I hear they are used for video editing, sound editing, and alot of investors use them. as far as rendering goes I have no personal knowledge yet, I have one but the price of monitors....

My recomendation would be to use the colorgraphics
for the editing/playback, etc and use a 3d card for rendering.
