[RESOLVED] data recovery software
I got a customer who killed his operating system, now WINME won't boot and booting from a floppy it says there is no valid fat on the drive.I ran fdisk and it finds the drive and volume, but if I try to access the drive it says invalid drive specification c.I need to know if this is recoverable( of course customer has not backed up anything ). I downloaded the free personal edition of Ontrack's Easyrecovery software, and it looks like it found the files but I never used anything like this before, and I want an opinion before I spend $180 for their software.

My vote is for Ontrack's Easyrecovery it has helped me to recover files several times from drives that fdisk couldn't even see correctly. It does take a long time so reserve about 12-24 hours if you have a few gigs to recover.

Could not live without them now.

I'm in full agreement. I found Ontracks Easyrecovery abount a month ago. Outstanding piece of software that I couldn't live without now.
