Unhappy HP Officejet G55 in NT4.0 will scan but won't print

I am setting up an Officejet G55 on a Compaq Deskpro Pentium 2. I set it up and installed the drivers.

It scans perfectly. It only prints when I open up the HP Director(the HP interface software that comes with the printer), select maintenance and tell it to print a test page. However, when I go into its properties from the print folder, it will not print that test page. It won't print a page from any other program either.

If anyone has encountered a problem similar to this or might know a way to work through it, I would appreciate any feedback.

    Thank you,

HP has some recent updates to their drivers dated 4/9/01: http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport...oftWindowsNT40

Also, check out their FAQ on "HP Officejet G Series Will not Print from Windows:" http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport...Tfile=bpu03038

Lots of good info there. Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!

Thanks for the help. Apparently, there is a problem with the HP Officejet G55 Windows NT 4.0 driver. I set it up as a Deskjet 550c and it prints just fine(with deminished print quality). Probably just need to wait for them to update the driver or upgrade to Win2Kpro. That'll teach them to order a printer without checking with IT first.
