    Question Ghost alternative???

OK, here's the problem. I have always used Ghost Pro 2.1.6 (back before Norton bought it) to create a backup copy of my hardrive every couple of months. I found this easier than trying to keep backups of docs, email, favorites, etc. So I just copy the whole drive! This worked great when my primary drive was an 8.4GB and my backup drive was a 6.4GB. Now I have a 10.2GB that I would like to use and Ghost has a limitation of 8.4GB.

Does anyone out there know of a good drive copy utility that handles over 8.4GB? Maybe I can still use Xcopy or Xcopy32, but what are the switches???

when you say ghost can only handle 8.4 and below is that the older version you have or the newer version 6?

Enterprise 6 handles our 30 gigs with no problems.

    Cool

Granted, but I am looking for a low-to-no cost alternative.

That's true, I guess I got a little spoiled to Ghost.

download the trial version of ghost off of download.com it handles up to 30gb, and the time limit never expires.

The only draw back to xcopy or xcopy32 it that it dosen't like long file names.

    Thumbs up

I've used PowerQuests Drive Image Pro v3.0. www.powerquest.com
It works quite nice and we've imaged 20GB drives with it.
    It handles FAT16,FAT32,NTFS,HPFS.

I think the regular Drive Image is around 40-50 dollars, but I'm not exactly sure on the price.

I get OEM Norton System Works 2000, which includes Ghost 2000. I pay $11, that includes Norton 2000 Antivirus, cleansweep, Ghost, Utilities and a few more.

    Cool

Ghost rocks,I have never really used drive image so I can't comment there, ghost has always done what I needed. The older versions that have the 8 gig limit suck but you can't go wrong with version 6 and I believe the personal addition is fairly cheap.

Everyone wants everything to be easy and free.

I think 4.1 might solve that for you. let me know
them - When I click on this it crashes.
me - OK, reboot and let's troublesho...
them - See, it did it again...
    me - sigh
