    Talking win 98 protection error on 200mhz machine

    I am about ready to pull my hair out. Either that or beat the owner of this machine with their keyboard.

    Win 98 give me a windows protection error on shutdown. Restarts like a charm. I figured the shutdown patch should fix the problem. Nope. This was a fresh load of win 98 (but not a formatted one, I did deltree).

    Any suggestions? I will try to disable quick shutdown and see if that helps. IF it does, I will post an update on here.

    Just figured out the problem guys. POS Norton Anti Virus was causing the problem.
    As soon as I disbaled auto protect, it worked like a charm.
