problems booting up computer
A win98 computer is stopping during the boot process. It goes through the POST alright. It goes though the "PCI device listing..." alright. The last one in the listing is ACPI Controller at IRQ 9 . Technically, the next step in the boot process is Verifying DMI Pool Data. It freezes at that point - right in between PCI Device Listings and Verifying DMI.
I have found solutions for the computer freezing after the Verifying DMI Pool Data message appears (load BIOS defaults), though here it is freezing before DMI. I tried the BIOS defaults anyway, though it did not help...
Any ideas?
Thanks
Rafi

It isn't really liking something its finding in PnP. Take the last thing out of the computer that goes thru, and try again. EG. if the sound card goes thru then it freezes, take the soundcard out and try again.

I agree to pull the PnP cards one at a time to check, and try the floppy cable as well.
