Linux resolution changing
How do you change the resolution on the desktop of Red Hat 7.0 with the gnome desktop? I don't really want to re-install.

ROFL - hrm, i seem to recall it was ctrl+shift+alt+backspace, or ctrl+shift+backspace, or something - not 100% sure, not even 80% sure if that'll work

ctrl-alt-plus / minus will cycle through all the resolutions listed in your x86config file. May or may not work on a laptop.
(one of the few Linux questions I know the answer to.)

Is there another way. The ctrl-alt-plus(or minus) didn't work. The system is a docked HP Omnibook 4100. Thanks.

Just in case you are unaware the Linux Forums are at
http://www.xdrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimate.cgi
The ctrl-alt-plus and minus should work in RH 7 if the X server is version 4 or higher.
I am not sure about RH because I hate it.
If the X server is an older version try running either setup or Xconfigurator from the console logged in as root.
For a real experience try Mandrake 7.2
