Hitachi DVD...
What's happening with those HITACHI DVDs?
I have enough problems with them lately!
Listen to this:
The day before yesterday, a customer brought me his machine, saying he couldn't watch a single movie. He had PowerDVD 2.0
Ok...I checked it and no results.
Then I uninstalled it and installed PowerDVD 1.22.
I put a movie in and played perfectly. I left it playing the whole movie. No problems.
Yesterday he brought it back saying the same things. I tested it with the same movie and couldn't play. The error message?
"There's no disk in drive * "
What happened? He said he didn't do anything, just tried to watch a movie.
Ok. The configuration:
PII built machine, Hitachi DVD-ROM 2500, ATI vga (compatible of course with DVD - No MPEG card needed).
I've checked almost everything: DMA settings, drivers, software...
I'm thinking if it's the DVD drive that's doing all that.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Ati has great support with dvd's on the card.
Try using their dvd player.
I have a CL 5x and tried power dvd and the sound never worked. I'm now always using windvd.
ati dvd can be found here http://www.elitehardware.com/Files/atidvd.zip

Thanks for your help Jman.
I've already tried ATI DVD Player. The same problems. I've also checked another Hitachi DVD drive. The problem persists.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot one again....
