[RESOLVED] AMD k62500 reported as 300
I have just upgraded a system and installed a AMD k62500 processor into it and for some reason it is being reorted as a AMD K62300.
I have set the voltage to 2.2v and speed to 100mhz and mulyplyer to 5x. This is set on a Jetway 542b.
I have looked and looked and can not find what is wrong, can anybody please help.
Thanks
Paul

You haven't got a VIA MVP3 chipset by any chance, just asking as I'm having roughly the same problem (Posted in BIOS/MOTHERBOARD)

Have you guys checked to see if there is a bios upgrade? Chances are there is.

I 2nd the motion for checking for a bios upgrade. Some motherboards, such as the Abits, had an update for certain models that corrected mis-reporting processor speeds. Also to fix the bug with some models reporting Pentium III processors as Pentium II's.
Check it out!!
