Abit BE-6 II question...
Just built a machine using an Abit BE6 II mobo with a 600 celeron, v3 3000, awe 64, 128 ram and d-link 10/100. When I power up, I get the most annoying beeping sequence, up and down repeating, and I can't find any info anywhere to let me know what the problem is. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

beep sequence: be more specific: like 3short, 1 long,
steady repetitive short beeps, etc.

Consistent up and down beeps, kind of like a siren. Any ideas?

That will be the system monitor settings in the BIOS. Disable the CPU overheat warning and fan failure.

Disabling will get rid of the alarms but at what cost? We don't want a fried chip. Try removing the CPU fan and reinstalling. Use heatsink grease. Carefully twist the fan back and forth a little to make sure it is seated solidly against the CPU. If the alarm still sounds when you reboot, buy a better fan.
