[RESOLVED] CD Rom not visible on a DOS box
I'm putting 98 on a Compaq DOS/ 3.1 laptop for a friend after he gave up in disgust. This is one of these machines that can have either a CD-ROM or a floppy at the same time so he loaded DOS from floppies. Now the CD isn't visible. He tried downloading a service pack from the Qs website, when he tries to run it it says that the program is too bit to run in memory (it is big, mind) but he reckons that the driver for the CD drive (A Teac lump) has been loaded.
I've forgotten most of my DOS (I usually work with NT, Unix or VMS) so I'd appreciate some tips.
thanks,
Rob

I'll bet that if you go to Compaq's web site that you will find the configuration files for that model lap top. That should fix your problem.
