Post Sony CDU611 driver

I need to install a Sony CDU611 driver into the MS-DOS on my system to be able to run a program.
1. Where do I get the Sony driver from?
2. How do I get MS-DOS to recognise the D: drive?
Any help would be welcome!
Thanks, Layor.

Go here to download the ATAPI_CD.SYS DOS driver (it gets loaded from CONFIG.SYS) and read how to make it work...

Thanks SS, I have downloaded as you said but still no go, my system (win95) will not regognise the D: drive in msdos mode. When I get the C:\>prompt and try to change to D: (using cd D:\) I get an "invailid drive message".
Still, don't worry I'll get it sorted some day!
It's not vital as everything else seems to be O.K.
Thanks again for your help.

Question

Assuming that the file ATAPI_CD.SYS is in your "C:\" root directory, did you add the line "DEVICE=ATAPI_CD.SYS /D:MSCD000 /I:0" into your CONFIG.SYS file? Then, assuming that the DOS file MSCDEX.EXE is in your "C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND" subdirectory, did you add the line "C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD000 /V /M:12" into your AUTOEXEC.BAT file? Doing so should allow you DOS access to your CD-ROM drive, even when shelling out from Win95...

Still no go, SS. I've tried all you suggested but I still get the 'invalid drive specification' message. Could the ATAPI_CD.SYS not be the correct driver? If so is there any other that would do?
One point, it does get recognised when I go into msdos via the Windows shortcut promt on my Desktop. Any help??

A Win98 boot disk has about every universal DOS CD-ROM driver known, if you have access to a copy of that floppy. You might want to also try getting one of the files from BOOTDISK.COM...
