Proxy Entries in Registry
I want to set up all of my NT 4 boxes to have all of the firewall settings under the default user so I don't have to configure them every time a new user logs on to them. Should I accomplish this with a default profile? I was hoping to be able to remotely connect to the registries and enter what is needed. I have found the settings under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but it is a pain in the *** with about 300 users jumping around all over the state from office to office. Any suggestions?

look for a similar setting in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive. Might be somewhere like SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

this is what i have done
create a batch file, and in it have the following line
start regedit /s \\domaincontroller\netlogon\regfile.reg
create a reg file with the an export of the correct proxy settings, edit the reg file to include ONLY the settings you want to change (to minimize a boo boo) name the file as above or use your imagination...
include this in their logon script and weeeee no foot work!!!
(did a office 2000 rollout with such batchfiles....)
I love scripts....
